PAINTING

 

First the cast is washed with acetone to make the surface suitable for painting, it is then sprayed or painted black,this is to stop the colour of the resin being seen through the paint.

Every factory uses different painting techniques, some use the lower standard artists to paint the large areas leaving the edges and the details to the better artists, other factories give each artist one colour and the items are past along the line while each colour is added, there are also some factories where the artists hold several brushes in one hand and can switch from brush to brush with ease cutting down production time. After painting the pieces they first have to pass quality control before being sent for packing.
